Cobb County Republican Women’s Club
Join us for the first meeting of the new year on Friday, January 27 at the Marietta Conference Center with registration starting at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting starting at noon. We will be holding the meeting in the pub.
This is a special meeting as we will be presenting Mary Aven Award, Woman of the Year, Sue Everhart Award and some surprise awards as well. Then, our own Millie Rogers, president of GFRW, will install the officers for 2006.

Dues are Due
Have you paid your 2006 membership dues? If not, I would appreciate your doing this so that we can remain the largest club in Georgia. Invite a prospective member to our next meeting. They will love us and want to join also. I challenge each of you to bring in one new member in 2006. If we do this, no club will ever be larger than us. Right now we are at the following:

Millie Rogers started her reign in January as President of Georgia Federation of Republican Women.
Teresa Plenge was elected Chairman of Cobb County School Board
Jamie Tumlin married Ryan Patrick on November 26 and it is nice to have a young bride in our membership.
Mary Stearns-Montgomery was named one of the 2005 Legal Elite in the December 2005 issue of Georgia Trend Magazine. This is a listing of the state’s most effective lawyers, selected by their peers. Mary specializes in Family Law.
Janean Shumaker and her husband, Jim, had their second child, Erin Elizabeth, born on December 14, weighing in @ 8 lbs, 3 ozs and was 19-3/4 inches. Janean and Jim have a son, Tyler, who is 17 months old.
Ellen Springer was named 2005 Kennesaw Citizen of the Year by the Kennesaw Business Association.
Holly Comer began a new career in January, becoming the Assistant Vice President for Chesley Brown International, Inc.
Ellen Worley was elected First Vice President of the Senior Citizens Council of Cobb County.
United States Senator Johnny Isakson and Cobb Commission Chairman Sam Olens were named two of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine in its January 2006 issue.
Fulton County Commission Chairman Karen Handle (and candidate for Georgia Secretary of State) and Angela Speir, Georgia Public Service Commissioner, were named Notable Georgians by Georgia Trend in its January 2006 issue.
