A Proud Tradition of Literacy

The Mamie Eisenhower Library Project, known as MELP, is the National Federation of Republican Women's oldest literacy program. For more than 60 years, Republican women's clubs have donated approved books and educational materials to schools, libraries, hospitals and other public institutions.

NFRW established the project in 1961 as a memorial honoring former Republican First Lady Mamie Eisenhower. During President Dwight D. Eisenhower's military service, she supported his service to our country while preparing the family home through more than 30 moves.

The Mamie Eisenhower Library Project of the Cobb County Republican Women's Club is funded in part by the Bette Tempest Fund.
